Mainz 05 are delighted to announce the signing of French striker Ludovic Ajorque from RC Strasbourg on a deal until 30th June 2026. The 28-year-old scored 51 goals and picked up 19 assists in 151 appearances for the Ligue 1 side. He also has experience on the European stage, having scored two goals in six appearances the UEFA Europa League. Further details of the transfer will remain undisclosed.

Heidel, Svensson and Ajorque

“We have been looking at Ajorque for a number of weeks. He is the perfect fit for what our head coach was looking for. The transfer agreement was preceded by very long, intensive talks and we would like to thank RC Strasbourg for their fair and confidential negotiations. We are pleased that we have been able to acquire Ludovic for Mainz 05,” explained Christian Heidel.

Head coch Bo Svensson: “Ludovic is not a short-term solution and not a player that we’re signing just for the sake of it. He will help make us better. His height and his physique give him a lot of power and we will also benefit from his aerial prowess and his presence in the box. At the same time, he also enjoys helping out when not in possession. We’re looking forward to having him on board.”

The style of play at Mainz 05 suits me well, as do the club’s values

“I’m very happy to be part of this club,” said Ajorque. “The style of play at Mainz 05 suits me well, as do the club’s values. I have kept a close eye on the Zerofivers ever since my teammate Anthony Caci moved here. He’s a good friend of mine and has helped set up many goals for me in the past – we want to continue doing that in the Bundesliga.”
