Pre-season: RBL’s key dates this summer

Attention turns to pre-season!

The back-to-back DFB-Pokal winners officially began their summer break on Sunday, with some players going on international duty.

After a four week break, the non-international players will start their preparations for the 2023/24 season with the obligatory performance tests and medical examinations on 8th July, followed by the first training session on 10th July.

All the players who are away with their respective national teams will complete the tests on 15th July and will return to the team on 17th July for the first training session as a complete squad.

The RBL squad will be in Bruneck from 20th-28th July, where they are set to play two friendlies. The season opening will take place on either 5th or 6th August, with details coming in due course.

The first real test of the summer will come on 12th August (KO TBC) when Marco Rose’s men will take on Bundesliga champions FC Bayern München in the Supercup. RBL’s participation in the Supercup means they will play their DFB-Pokal first round match on either 26th or 27th September 2023.

Our first Bundesliga match will take place between 18th-20th August, with the fixtures to be released in around two weeks time.
