Zweimal Leipzig, immer Leipzig!

After the 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the final and a long night in Berlin for our cup winners, the boys joined the fans in Leipzig on Sunday to keep the party going.

Take a look at all the action from the weekend with the best pictures from our Pokal party.

Party in Berlin

Reception at the town hall

The first location on Sunday was the New Town Hall in Leipzig, where our cup heroes were welcomed by Leipzig’s Mayor Burkhard Jung.

“It’s an incredible, fairy-tale story,” said Jung, reflection on RBL’s development since being promoted to the Bundesliga in 2016, going on to qualify for the Champions League six times and win two DFB-Pokals.

Captains Peter Gulacsi and Willi Orban, head coach Marco Rose, managing director for sport Max Eberl and CSO Johann Plenge were invited to sign the city of Leipzig’s visitors’ book on behalf of the club.

Afterwards, the players presented the trophy from the town hall bridge to the thousands of fans below that had gathered at Burgplatz.

Party truck through Leipzig

From there, the players boarded a specially-designed party truck through the city towards the Red Bull Arena. The RBL fans turned out in numbers on the field in front of the stadium, with over 30,000 supporters celebrating with the team in style!

Marco Rose and Kevin Kampladdressed the fans on stage with some emotional words. “Together, we can achieve anything”, roared Kevko, adding: “This right here; the team, the club, you, the city of Leipzig – keep this going!”

Marco thanked the supporters after securing his first title as RB Leipzig. “I’m proud of this team, and of you, our fans. You have given us incredible support all season long!”
