Philipp Lienhart extends contract at SC Freiburg

Philipp Lienhart played 29 Bundesliga matches, four cup games and six Europa League matches this season for SCF. The Austria international has been at Freiburg since summer 2017 and has made 167 professional appearances for the club.

“Philipp is a solid player in our team. He fits both as a footballer and as a person,” said sporting director Klemens Hartenbach. “He can fill any position in our different defensive set-ups with his high quality and intelligence. We are very pleased to be continuing our journey together.”

Philipp Lienhart himself said, “SC Freiburg has become my home over the past few years. I am very proud of the development I have made as a player, but also all of us as a team. This story is not over yet. I’m very much looking forward to continuing to be part of this group in the future and fully taking on next season.” Both parties have agreed not to disclose the details of the contract.
