Gregor Kobel spoke about the captaincy, Edin Terzic and the season objectives in a media round. We have compiled the most important statements.

Gregor Kobel on the USA Tour:
“It’s always special to be far away from your home country. But it’s nice and exciting to see something new. The conditions are super. We’re looking forward to being able to work well for the week.”

…the captaincy question:
“I would like to help the team and assume responsibility. It will be decided in or after America. We have time. The team will find itself automatically anyway. It’s not only the captain; there’s always a collective that takes on responsibility. For me, nothing would change. I try each year to work on my development and take a step forward, in terms of my personality too. But that has nothing to do with whether I have the armband or not.”

…the end of the season:
“We’ll never completely forget it. You’ll always think about such events. But you can also draw energy from it and that’s exactly what we’re trying to do. It’s a new season with some new players. Now it’s a case of getting to know each other, working on ourselves and getting into a flow. We need to build on the good things, integrate the new lads and do better at the things where we still have room for improvement so we can take the next step as a team.”

…Edin Terzic:
“His big strength is motivating a team and getting the best out of each individual. He’s top on a human level. He identifies strongly with the club. You can see that he’s passionate about the cause and wants the maximum success for the team. That rubs off on the team too.”

…the number of goals conceded:
“Conceding fewer than one goal per game is a very good target. That’s a big point for us as a team where we can take a step forward. We had good spells defensively throughout the season but also repeatedly had slip-ups where we conceded three or four goals. We need to keep working on that.”

…the season objectives:
“I don’t want to name any positions in the table. We took a big step in the second half of the season in terms of the points average. It’s very important to build on that and become more consistent. Then success will come by itself.”
